                                             Our Mission Statement                                                     Open Door Ministry of Faith Deliverance Center, Inc. is an outreach ministry and is also a nonprofit organization with a 501(c) 3 status. Pastor Mary E. Shell this organization on November,1, 1992. The vision of the  ministry is to bring deliverance into the hearts of the hearts of the people in the community by teaching the word of the Lord (which is the Bible), feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, educating, community youth, and bringing families together. It is also our desire to improve the quality of life by meeting the needs of the needs of the communities that we serve.


                           Pastor's Biography

Pastor Mary E. Shell was born on March 14, 1933. She grew up in Wilson County, and graduated from Frederick Douglas High School (Elm City). In 2003 Pastor Shell at t he age of 70 graduated from Edgecombe Community College with her Associate Degree in Child Care.               

She Relocated to New York City at an early age. She received a degree in Business at ITT Business Institute and B.B.K. Certificate at U.H.C. of America United Bible School. She attended classes at Tabernacle Bible Institute  in Jamaica, N.Y.  Mary was employed by Manufactures Hanover Trust Bank and was a community worker for the city of New York.  The Lord led Mary to return to her roots in 1979 taking residency in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. There she enrolled ai O.I.C. where she recieved another certificate in Business.  Pastor Mary Shell retired in 1995. After fifteen years of service from, "North Carolina Special Care Center" in Wilson, N.C..

In 1981 Mary joined the Tabernacle of Prayer for all people in wilson,N.C.. She Taught the book of Romans, for six years and a thursday night Bible class at Fountain Correctional Facilty for Women, for twelve years.

Pastor Mary has eight children: Ayries, Brenda, Lisa, Craig, Dana, Emanuel, Virginia, and Gayle.  Pasor Mary is known as "Nana to her sixteen grandchildren; and thirteen great-grand's!
